    1989 turbo mini

I hate to do it but its time to make some room. I have a 1989 Voyager that is about as rust free as you can find in Michigan. Its all origanal and runs. 140k and a clean title in my name. Tires have about 80% tread left. Interior is in good shape but could use a good cleaning.

Issues it does have. Brakes, it has none and I mean none. I was driving this as a dd and on the way home from work it lost everything. I creeped it into my driveway and its been sitting there every since untouched, I just didn't have time to even look at it. It has a small trans fluid leak somewhere. I've owned the van for over 2 years and have added a qt and a half. It is also very noisy. The exhaust system is good, I thought it was a loose connection at the manifold/donut area. I took it to a local muffler shop to fix but they had it on the hoist and it seems its the manifold gasket leaking and they didn't want to try and fix it. I figured I would just do a preventative head gasket change and do the manifold gasket at that time but never got around to it.
I'd like $300.00 out of it. If it sits here much longer I'll repair the brakes, exhaust and put it on craigslist. Make an offer, you never know, but be realistic. It will have to be towed. If the brakes were fixed, I would drive this thing anywhere,,,and have.

Well, I do love the stick If I could afford to get Maaco, the red would be tolerable.

Hmmmm this would definitely be worth it if I could just drive it back home. I want another Turbo Mini again but unfortunatly in the condition yours is in wouldn't work for me. I am looking more for a straight up trade for my 98 Neon R/T. If your interested in that car as a trade maybe we can work something out. You can PM me if your interested... otherwise good luck on the sale.

    Re: 1989 turbo mini

for the first time in forever I had a chance to take a quick look at the brakes. Of course it started hailing out and then pouring rain to cut my investigation short....but it looks like the front hose is damaged to the caliper. I have a little time tomorrow and if thats the culprit I will change it out and it should be road worthy....of course I might be tempted to keep it again......lol

check that and the rear wheels cylinders. since its drum and quite an old van now the rear wheels cylinders can most def be the culprit. if not its a rusted steel line or the rubber hoses up front. leaking brakes are one of the easiest things to figure out to be honest lol. Just got to know where to look and the parts and all involved in brakes. You can see leaking rear cylinders by simply getting under the van and looking at the inside of the rear of the drum (where the hub is) and look for wetness at where the steel line screws into, you guessed it, the rear wheel cylinder.

well its been 6 months and I still haven't had a chance to do anything with it or really any desire to. It's still in the same shape, needs brakes done to the point it has to be towed and needs an exhaust manifold gasket Price drop just to get it out of here. 300.00 and bring a tow dolly. The engine and trans should be worth that.....If I can't get it out of here soon, I'll pull the motor and get what I can at the junk yard....

Yeah, it's nice that they insist on taking $800 of my money throughout the year , and earn interest on it for themselves, then give it back just before year end. 'Cause you know that money doesn't just sit in a vault somewhere...
