Sorry... The same question gets the same answer.

I get asked things in PMs and regular posts so I forget what has been asked where sometimes.

I had a slight issue where I didn't realize that both bolt holes change in side to M10 but other than that I expect everything to fit.

I will have two left and I can submit another waterjet order for more on Friday as long as Harry certifies the part as good.

$35 shipped or less. It looks like I have to make a change to them so things aren't completely finalized yet.

It depends on what you guys want to pay and the demand.

Coatings keep going up in price. It is $125 to do a run of hard anodizing. I think normal anodizing is only $90 or so.

If I sold 10 of them that means the anodizing would be around $10 each and I don't think people want that. If I sold 20-30 of them then it starts to make sense. Or if people order a bunch of camber plates then I can also throw everything in together.

They aren't very visible and even the alternator its self doesn't have a coating so it really shouldn't be necessary.

Not sure either, pretty well every other vehicle everything is solidly mounted.
Maybe Dodge thought they wanted it to move?????

Yea sometimes it is important to add cost through coatings to visible things to make them pretty but it is usually not a good idea to add cost to hidden things.

A quick shot of spray paint will be fine for the bracket. If I happen to anodize a batch of things then I will toss them in but otherwise it isn't worth it to do a special lot for these.

    Re: Alternator Tensioner Bracket

This is bulls**t! I'm local and I don't get a call to test fit!

I just found this thread and would like to add that that piece I've seen as early as 1988 on a non CB 2.2 T-I.

I'd be down for two. One for me and one for my Dad's T&C.

I had to buy one from the dealer about six years ago and my cost was $90. So nobody better b!tch about $35. And this one won't wear out.

    Re: Alternator Tensioner Bracket

Its only $90 if your stuck with the early one

later ones are still reasonably priced ($38.xx)

Heres a not so great picture of the piece in question.

This is the one I'm referring to. Are there two different types of this configuration?

    Re: Alternator Tensioner Bracket

There are 2 different p/n's for that tear-drop shaped rubber thing.

    4448455 $131.07 $0.00 $90.44
    Electrical - Alternator - Alternator - Bracket
    Upper - 2.2 & 2.5 liter 1984 - 1990

    4483491 $54.10 $0.00 $37.32
Electrical - Alternator - Alternator - Adjust bracket
    Upper - 4 cylinder 1987 - 1996
They both cross over on which years they were used so its difficult to get an exact year by year, car model vs alternator type vs engine reference setup.

89 was the last year the more expensive '455' one was listed in the book.

Prototype did not fit. Please be patience while Rich makes his adjustment to the unit, pricing, coating, etc. He's busy enough as-is, give him some time.

Oops I was looking at something backwards when I did the thickness. The top side will have to be thinner I see it now from the last picture.

I don't have an 8V engine sitting around anymore and my memory failed me.

I should be able to grind a little material off from the prototype and fix it. The clearances might not be possible in a purely 2D cut but we can always mill them slightly.

Actually I was looking at the correct thickness but the mount I was using as a mock up apparently was too worn out. It had allowed the rubber to flex to one side and therefore made my measurements off by about .060"

I will just have to make them using 3/8" stock instead of 1/2" and I will add a washer to make everything right. The washer should really be there anyway so that the whole bracket isn't touching the adjuster.

The prototypes were too thick so I had to make another run of them.

They should be available this week but I will call tomorrow to check up on them.

Hopefully.... It is nice to fill a real need that doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg.
