    Freshening up 2.5 short block

Acquired an 89 2.5 short block and I want to freshen it up before installing it.
    I’m looking at getting:
    New bearings, rod and main
    Rings
    Front and rear main seals
    Oil pump
    Freeze plugs

Price from Rock Auto is around $270 because shipping is $44, coming from 5 warehouses.
Anyone know of a vendor that I could get a kit from so I could save on shipping

The seals and frost plugs should be cheap locally. Ebay has the best deals on rings, I seem to pay around $10-$20 a set.

I never buy an oil pump, just take yours apart, if not scored reuse. I also put MP's spring kit in as you should take out the relief valve to clean and you have to damage the cup to get it out. I don't have the part number handy.

As for the bearings, Ebay again or wait until you take yours apart, if they are ok, reuse them. Unless its been highly abused or ran out of oil, the mains should be fine with the rods being iffy, so if anything, order rod bearings.

The vendors also carry all of this stuff so you can one stop shop with them.

    Motor had just over 100,000
Figured I'd change the mains just cause it's apart
    and their inexpensive.
    Thanks Simon.
