    Project T/A

I have owned this car for about 7 years. Its been in storage while I have been working on my TM's. It is an origional 340 six pack 4 speed T/A. Burnt orange with a black vinyl top black interior and a stripper as far as options go. Car used to be drag raced in Long Island back in the day.

Most of the metal work is done, i hope to have it on the rotisserie this summer. My plans for the car are to restore it cosmetically back to origioanl, and drop a 416 6 pak stroker in it Just bought a New AAR fiberglass T/A hood for it. Its the first time since Ive owned it that Ive seen it with a hood!

Looks good with a hood. You'll get it done in due time, it's come a long way since I saw it first years ago.

Old school Challengers have got to be one of my favorite cars. Good luck on getting it restored. It will definitely be worth all the time.

Nope, and beings that rebuildable long blocks are going for around 10k, I think that I am justified going my resto mod route.

Completely agree with you on that.

My neighbor has an AAR and he has the factor motor and trans sitting in a corner in his garage and a nice crate 360 with the 6 pack set up doing the work right now.

Do you have any of the original T/A heads or intake?

It looks a lot better with a hood on it, in fact, it looks awesome! You're gonna make that car all sorts of pretty and I can't wait to ride in it.

I have collected the intake setup It will find its way onto the stroker. Not really going to bother with anything else

I would say that I have about 80% of the car. Alot of the suspension and some of the iterior components are already restored and waiting to go on the car. Anything I need at this point is readily available in the aftermarket. Drivers fender is the origional one to the car. The pass fender is rust free but will need to be replaced as I learned to weld on that fender I am going with one of the goodmark ones. Judging by what I have heard they should fit pretty darn good but will need some adjustment to be perfect.

    Re: Project T/A

I just purchased a brand new amd pass fender and rear valance. Also just got a complete T/A spoiler kit with all the mounting hardware. As for little things, I got a new hurst lower bezel to the pistol grip, 4 speed shift boot, and woodgrain for the console. i now have all the sheetmetal. That should keep me busy for a while.

    Re: Project T/A

Car was in a storage bin the guy was a friend of ours and he passed away. We knew he had a mopar in storage but had no clue what it was. So we went and paid off his storage fee and got the car. Car was rust free but the 340-6 was gone it was replaced with 440-6. We tracked down the original motor it was in a duster drag car. Guy wouldnt sell it we tried to trade the 440-6 + $2000 but wouldnt budge. We ended up selling the aar for $8500 to a guy in cincinati, OH
