Keeping the lower IC hose on the turbo??

does anyone else have this problem?

Stock T2 stuff. I have a few lower IC hoses to choose from. They all are the same size where they clamp to the turbo. That size seems quite large compared to the turbo outlet.

I have good SS T-clamps, but it's really difficult to keep the (apparently) over sized hose on the turbo.

If the hoses dont fit snug goin onto turbo, dont waste your time tryin to beleive it wont cause a boost leak or blow off again. Use correct size hose to turbo. What turbo you have thats not same size as the stock innercooler hoses?

I never had a problem blowing one off using a plain old gear clamp. Is it backwards?

+1, but if you have to, a t-bolt clamp works wonders.

Turn the hose around or they are oil swelled.

The hose appears larger than the outlet on my car but it fits pretty snug.

+1 I don't see anything other than this being the culprit.

Hmm... Well, they must be oil swelled. Both ends are the same size. I do use stainless t-bolt clamps from the local Freightliner parts counter.

The last time I clamped it on, it seems to be staying now. Only running 5 psi daily, but sprints at 13-14 it seems to be holding.

Might have been a clamp issue.

Make a new hose out of 2 2.5 45 deg mandrel pipes and either weld them together or use a silicone coupler to join them.

Both end should NOT be the same size.

One end should be 2 inch, the other 2.25 inch.
