I changed the plugs, the boost is around 8psi and goes as high as 11. runs fine i think.

i did over boost it on its first test run. hope its ok.

So what would be a non-projected plug for our application?

RN3C (non-projected) is about the same heat range as a RN9YC (projected)

Agreed on detonation but those are the stock plugs Reeves. Your bud Ken will swear up and down on the those plugs but a colder version.

I love NGK BR9ES, or for me, the Irdium version,

    Check your AF and timing.

my freinds R/T did that when his timing belt ate through the vac lines and hit 25psi and shut down. It was running like crap so we decided to pull the plugs and thats what we found

    Re: my plugs wtf!

Weird ... aside from the obvious the plugs,
    A: don't look too old,
B: they are too hot .. but not so hot that the insulator legs are shiny,
    C: gaps looks consistent,
D: either some bad fuel as combustion had to be pretty bad for this to happen @8-11psi
E: seeing as it's all four I wouldn't rule out a defect in manufacture.

    Re: my plugs wtf!

After reading this thread, I pulled mine and they look EXACTLY like the pictures. It's caused by a detonation problem I've been after for most of last year. I'll be swapping in those RN3C non-projected plugs Reeves mentioned as soon as I find 4 of them.

    Re: my plugs wtf!

Note to self: Check spark plugs on the Charger.

I had some nasty pinging issues late last summer which have been corrected. Compression tests during the issues showed no problems, and the car currently runs as well as ever. But I don't remember if I ever inspected the plugs that closely or not, so better check to be sure.

Of course with all the BS that car has put me through, the plugs get changed as often as the oil.
