    Improving flow the easy way

I dismantled a 2-piece intake to port & coat for my wife's '89 Shelby. After I got it apart, I noticed something that didn't quite look right. Sure enough...

Maybe I should have put it on the flow bench before and after so I could claim, "Removing mouse nest worth 78.4 cfm!"

Years back I sent a set of BBC heads out to be cleaned up, they sat for around 15 years with the P.O.
When I got them back the ticket had "Mouse nest removal N/C" as the last line item..

    Gotta love it!

I've been editing video footage most of the day, but managed to open the inlet for a 52 mm TB.

Re: Improving flow the easy way

For the 52 mm TB I roughed it in with a boring bar on the mill, then blended by hand with a carbide bit (coarse for aluminum). After I got the shape I wanted, I smoothed over the chatter with an 80 grit sanding roll.
