New Best for the Shadow! 10.57 @ 135.8!

Went out to the Spring Cecil event...not a huge turnout, but lots of fun. I made a ton of passes, but these are the highlights. The car is basically the same as the end of last year, with the exception of the quaiffe and a new downpipe and I'm now running a muffler and a side exit exhaust.

    NO Nitrous...new best!

    R/T - -.072 (I'm a bit rusty here)
    60" - 1.735
    330 - 4.768
    1/8 - 7.18
    MPH 101.03
    1000 - 9.25
    1/4 - 10.987
    MPh 129.99

This had me pretty excited. Boost spiked to 30, settled at 26. I really wanted to get into the 10's without nitrous, particuarly after the exciting discussion about nitrous use from earlier in the winter. So, no more nay sayers....in the 10's on the motor.

Now that was done, time to play with the spray. In went the 50 hp jets!

    R/T - .062 (getting better!)
    60" - 1.698
    330 - 4.673
    1/8 - 6.96
    MPH 107.15
    1000 - 8.921
    1/4 - 10.578
    MPh 135.80

Woo hoo! Best pass by over 1/2 second, best mph for close to 6 mph. The track was pretty slick and was getting slicker, but it was enough. Boost was spiking high, settling to 28 on the spray.

I then tried a few other combos...big jets, low boost, goofing around with fuel pressure, etc. What I ended up finding is that the car likes boost and the 50 hp jets. I just could not get it happy on the 75's, so I went back to the 50's. I let it cool, put a bit more fuel in it but unfortunately, the track got worse.

    R/T - .000 (Perfect Light!!!!)
    60" - 1.836
    330 - 4.808
    1/8 - 7.109
    MPH 107.30
    1000 - 9.063
    1/4 - 10.708
    MPh 137.06 (Wow!)

On this pass, I noticed the boost spike was lower...spiking to about 33, then dropping to 28. Seeing it picked up 30 mph on the big end, I assumed that the car liked the lower spike. I loosened the wastegate can and went out again. The track was done and I spun through 1st, 2nd and actually got some tireshake in 3rd, but it was making tremoundous power and picked up 32 mph on the big end!

R/T - -.073 (back to my old ways)
    60" - 1.881
    330 - 4.869
    1/8 - 7.265
    MPH 102.46
    1000 - 9.289
    1/4 - 10.974
    MPh 134.15

The car has never felt like this. The power delivery was violent and it was pulling like it never has. I never in a million years thought this car would run mid 10's and trap 137 with this set up. I am thrilled with how she did.

    Thanks!

Boost had a lot to do with how much it picked up. My 50 trim is beyond tapped out....adding a bit of spray pushes that little sucker a bit further than it's able to go on it's own. No spray, I'm tapped at 26 psi (other than a spike). With the 50, it was holding steady at about 28.
