    Tie Rod End

    Whats the best way to take these freakin' things off? Common sense says Vice Grips and a wrench, but its not working!

    Hold the inner tie rod end with large visegrips, there is a threaded or splined portion up near the outer tie rod end, then loosen the lock nut, I think its clockwise looking at the out tierod end thru the wheel well, then either use a wrech or visegrips again to undo it. If its seized, you might need some heat.

    Thanks for the tip Clockwise is reverse-threaded...is that right?

    Another question, the guy who sold me the tie-rod end told me its the right one...but it looks nothing like what I have on it...is this okay to use?

    The picture is taken at the back of the tie-rod end to show the difference in length, the front is even.

    The tie-rod end is a Valucraft item number VES3008R, it has 2 other item numbers (QES3008RL & QA580792)

    Left and right are the same, if you look at the threads, you can see which way to turn it.

    The reason its different is its the cheaper one, so they make it smaller, not as strong and you pay less,

    Ok, I figured with it being cheap itd be smaller, its just an A to B car, I just wanted an opinion on whether itd be ok to use with it being a different size.
