Part #'s to rebuild L body 525 linkage?

Ive been searching using google AND the site's search and all I can find is how to do a hiem swap. My wifes grandpa has a 88 omni and his shift linkage fell apart. He doesn't need hiems as the car is BONE stock and will be staying that way until I get my hands on it years from now. He just needs it back on the road ASAP. So does anyone have a part# for a rebuild kit for the stock linkage? Dealer, napa, autozone doesn't matter. We just need the parts sooner then later. If it was mine I would heim it, but thats not what he wants to do.

    Thanks.

What part does he need to replace? All of it? That's a lot to track down especially considering that it was pretty flimsy when new.

Talked to him and the main rod that goes from the shifter to the linkage is what has came apart. Which is the same one that failed on my rampage, I cant find parts anywhere but I just cant believe something that common for breaking isnt available.

I was able to get every factory piece about a year and a half ago.

2 years ago I could get the ball joint and one of the rods.

Having just installed the heim joint conversion I would recommend you go with it and avoid the hassle of tracking down NOS parts.

+1 In fact, I believe the factory parts may be NS1. In the end, it will be cheaper, and much better to do the heim conversion. I did it several years ago, and wish I'd done it many years before did.

Thanks for the help guys. I went over sunday to help him with it and he had made a new piece with a lugnut and a set screw. Its ugly, and steel on steel is never a good idea, but it works. He is planning on buying the hiem conversion in the future.

I remember about a year and a half maybe two, the ball joint that attaches to the long shift rod went crazy expensive from Mopar. They were around $13 then they went to about $40. When this happens my experience tells me they are just about to go NS1. I did some research and found a metric heim joint on ebay that was a perfect fit. It was around $10 or so.
