well, ive been busy with the van, but it is now driveable. So i will be building the header in the next week or so. I also set up a date with my chasis guy to have a 6pt cage put in! So things will be getting serious here very shortly!
hell yeah
seriousness has begun.
Thanks to Supercrackerbox for the unusable trans case to make a mount out of;
Then i started to act like i knew what i was doing....
As youve noticed i did move the turbo to ontop of the trans. In my opinion it was the only feasable way of getting the he341 in there without using the factory log manifold. I think it should work well. NO..they didnt end up equal lenght but they are in firing order heading into the collector! I hope to get the rest built this week and hopefully everything installed next weekend if possible.

I love that header. Even if it ends up being a total failure it's still more than 99.9% of car guys would ever dare to attempt. Excellent work sir!
Thanks. I was thinking the same thing! Hopefully it wont be a wasted attempt. I wasnt going to spend the money on nice bends when i didnt know if it was going to work or not, or for the fact that i didnt know what i needed. I do however think it will work and that it will be worth the effort. If it doesnt work in the omni it WILL work on a vehicle with a larger engine compartment!......like my van......
thanks guys

considering it will get used either way, its a huge success. you just have a bit more welding to do than something with individual bends. Its going to do its job, get exhaust to the turbo as efficiently as possible ! !
Nice! What material did you use?
Its 1.5in inside diameter SS tubing. not sure on the thickness i dont have a piece infront of me. But it looks to be about the same thickness or thicker than other headers ive made.
Sorry I couldn't score some bent pieces. Even if I could have, we don't mandrel bend diameters that small.
thank you! those are very helpful! No i am not running power steering. But I *think* it would clear a p/s unit with minimal work.
from the trans tunnel
all fitted in the car
looks like i will take it apart and get the primarys weled up, wrapped, and welded onto the flange. Im going to mod. the collector a bit to move the turbo 1/2in forward and 3/8in up. also going to angle it a bit so the bend for the down pipe wont be so tight.

Sexy! Seems like a pretty good spot for a turbo!
