Thanks, I had another idea on the intake. I always wondered why people dont drill the intake and put ports directly on it for barbed fittings rather then doing a vac block. im going to put ports in different spots on the intake in 1/4 NPT thread so i dont need a vacuum block when im finished.

Shouldn't make any difference. I think the vacuum block thing is just easier to do in the car, as you don't have to drill any new holes, just buy the right fitting for the block inlet.

but...since i have it all apart i could make a cleaner looking intake with the ports closer to the items and hidden, then cap them off if i didnt need them. I did this on the elbow. I added 1 port on bottom and will add 1 more on top for , nitrous, alky, ect. but when not in use i just need to have them capped.

I like this idea i think that it will clean up the engine compartment without all the vac lines running to the same place/

I prefer the idea of having dedicated ports since a vacuum block effectively acts like a resivour that slows down response of the vacuum/boost signal. In most cases it really doesn't slow things down much at all, this just falls within 'while I'm here I may as well ______'.

well, got some more work done on the intake. Should be completely finished this week! Then to start mocking up the header for the holset!

Also am going to upgrade the cooling system this spring. I found a nice summit radiator i think im going to try.
    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-380645/
Should fit my omni well and still have room for the i/c piping.

Ive also seen a few others use Honda civic radiators. Ive read mixed reviews. I like the idea of the summit one because its shorter and crossflow. But is almost 3X more expensive than a civic radiator. And id still need to buy a nice puller fan. Idk tax time is right around the corner!

    Thoughts?

Went to the dyno today to get a base line before changing the intake. 268HP and 401 TQ. Ill get the intake swapped here in the next few weeks and head back for some real results.

I bet that intake will help bring the a/f up in the upper R's. Still might need some tweaking to get the a/f to not be lean in the lower now though.

I think the intake will lower torque by about 30 ft lbs and increase hp by about 30 hp. Which i am ok with. I have a hard time at the track with the amount of torque the car has now. I could use some top end HP help!

When I had a 2.5L TI engine in my GLH Turbo, it made 198 WHP/270 WTQ on a Dynojet. Basically it was a bone stock '89 2.5L TI, TII turbocharger, 3" exhaust, NPR intercooler, few other minor bolt-ons. Boost was spiking 14 psi and settling about 12 psi. It was the ultimate pizza delivery machine.

    The intake looks great,

Can you fix the broken photo links, please,

    I don't think you'll lose any torque.

    Nothing wrong with using nipples-

    Looks nice simon!

Heres the final install pics. Intake is in. Looks great, fits great. Would def. pass for stock! Butt dyno says that it doesnt fall on its face after 4K anymore. But with all the wheel spin its hard to get a fair account.

And the GLH got a bath from a few weeks agos snow storm/dyno trip.
