Anyone seen these black pizza rims before?

This is from a 1984 'CV Series' 600ES convertible that I never heard of or saw before. Its from a book I have, 'The Complete History of Chrysler', although its only up to 1985 since that was when it was published.

I have have seen swiss cheese black rims, but I assumed they were custom. This pic appears to be pizza rims though.

    Anyone have any clue?

Here is a link to a better pic that I stumbled upon:

This would be a good find.

Cool wheels, Michael Knight. That would look pretty cool on a slammed omni or rampage...

Nope, I've never seen a car with those in black. Looks awesome though.

A friend of my father had a 600 vert with pizza wheels painted like that. They looked good. I had all-black powdercoated pizzas on my Horizon for a while.

Actually, there is the exact car in my home town in Michigan, lady owns a pizzaplace/bar. The car is an 84, she bought it new, and is all blacked out, saw it last summer when I was back home. I thought someone painted all the stuff on it and wheel centers, but now that I think of it, that doesnt make sense seeing as it was like that the first time I saw it(in 84) I remember it inspired me to paint the centers of my 6.5" crabs on my glht sante fe blue. I will have my buddy get a picture of it for me, she only drives during summer, and the car still looks new. Maybe Ill check google street view.

Brochures and mag articles can be very inaccurate. Lots of errors and preproduction stuff in them. Few examples, 87 Shadow brochure and other literature says turbo option received vented hood louvers. Humm... vented hood on a Shadow? 87 GLHS shows EGR valve, 86 GLHS has intercooler decals instead of intercooled, Hot rod mag cover shows 86 GLHS with Fittipaldi Aero wheels, funky upper intercooler hose, the 90 VNT Lebarons with ride select, etc.
I personally have never seen black pizza wheels with bright rim unless owner painted them. Not to say they don't exist, but I'm skeptical. However, I did just find a 3rd manufacturer of pizza wheels. USA made ones, Enkie made in Japan ones, and now I found pizza wheels with a "made in Italy" cast into them. WTF? I would have lost that bet, so who knows?

The only ones like it I've seen are the ones on Oggie's car in The Wraith. I always thought they were pizzas, but eventually figured they were most likely crabs.

here is a car with black rims - but they are swiss cheese rims. so not sure of there legitimacy. I know someone has an Omni with these rims as well:

This seller claims the rims are perfect (awaiting pics). Initially he wanted $400 plus a set of replacement rims so his car was not on blocks. Now he'll take $250 for the rims + a set of replacements.

I think if you have a typical faded set of pizza's that need restoring, this would be a good swap.
