Koni coilovers w/Rich Bryant camber plates

So today I started working in the installation of the Koni coilovers and camber plates I got from Rich Bryant.

I only got one side done unfortunately...BUT...I decided to weigh the new assembly (strut/coil over setup/camber plate) vs. the old Koni/Eibach/stock bearing plate assembly.

BIG SURPRISE! (at least it was to me) The new setup is roughly 13 lbs. lighter per side! If you ask me that's killer!

    Just thought I'd share

That is a really big difference. Did you get the Konis from him also, or are those the other struts he was showcasing a couple weeks back?

I sold Andy my Gbody Konis with ground control coilover sleeves and I think 7" Eibach springs.

Sadly I probably only put 100 miles on those struts before I went all ADD and started looking at something even more advanced.

The konis are a nice setup but unfortunately the only way you can get them now is to do the "cut a strut" with an insert rather than directly from koni as a complete unit because they were discontinued from Koni. The "cut a struts" will probably be heavier than Andy's because of the insert and the regular shock body they are used with both have outer walls.

Is the 10lbs with the camber plates? The BCs are about 10 1/4lbs without the plates.

    Rich,

Yes the 10 lbs. (now this isn't exact measurement but it's close enough) was fully assembled coil over with camber plate and all hardware ready to bolt into the car.

Lower than the axles will allow and survive I know that for sure. I don't know a total overall measurement but I could drop it further than is drivable I'd bet.

It sounds like he wants to drop it lower than is drivable.

I was running them near the highest point on their adjustment on the charger. And that was with a spacer on top of the strut hat rather than the one that extends the shaft. Make sure to keep a the bump stops at full length when using the extension bushing so that it can never bottom out the strut.

Crazy slammed undrivable car culture anyway...

Yea I agree and this is basically my sentiment. Anyone can do whatever they want to. I was just poking fun based on my own personal tastes.

Rich, IIRc, these plates don't work with stock springs right?
