Any idea how to get the trunk on my TC open. No trunk key and electronic pop not doing anything. Need to get it open to take the car apart and I also want the trunk lid for my other car.

what kind of back seats are in these?
locksmith? or go destructive and hack away at it till you can remove the cylinder then just use a dipstick/Flathead to pop it.

You could use a drill to drill the internals of the lock cylinder out. I've been able to do this with several T-Top locks.

No seats in a TC, spare tire compartment is constructed into the back seat area. Might have to drill it out if that's the only other way
sledge hammer lol
check fuses and key is on when hitting the button?
find the wire to the solenoid up front and jump it to power?
You might find Jimmy Hoffa in there...
later Dick Westerhof
probably just lbs of coke from the 80s

coke is good. wouldnt that make my purchase worth all that much more
Why don't you just get a locksmith to make you a key? Shouldn't take them any time at all.
no, big money for a locksmith to do this since i have no key and the trunk wont open. trunk key blank also tc specific
The key blank is ILCO 1790TC
still no help but thanks
trunk popper is functioning but not releasing the lid. lovely
get someone to push up and down on the trunk as you hit the pop button.

Ignition, door, and trunk key not all the same?
You can go to the dealer and have them cut you a key. I've done this for several vehicles. Lets see in the past week I've done it on a 92' Miata. Went to dealer, looked up vin, received key code, and they cut a key from the comp. Did it on a 91' Miata too.
For shits and giggles I went to the Dodge Dealership and had them cut a key for the R/T because the originals are quite worn. Cut me a valet and regular key. Parts guy was shitting his pants that they still had the code in the system. All places charged around $7 per key.
Also, a legit locksmith can put a tool in the tumbler, pull it out, and make a key from that.
I'd use drilling as a last resort. Hate doing that....had to once or twice....but hated it.

done the push down and pull up while having it pressed. trunk key is different than the rest of the locks. also seems like something is in the lock already
I would drill it out, you don't have a key for it anyways.
