    Rebuilding an oil pump

So I'm building up this '85 2.2L Turbo I motor and I'd like to reuse the stock oil pump. I took it apart and it looks just fine inside and rotates very smoothly. The only thing I'm a little unsure of is the spring inside. I have removed the cotter pin but not sure how to get that plug out or where to get a new relief spring. Does FWDP or Mopar still have those?

P3690944 is the kit for the spring and cap.

Good practice reusing the stock mopar pumps IMO, just follow the service manual specs and should have no problems.

You have to destroy the cup to get out the spring and relief valve.

All I use are OE pumps with the stronger spring kit,

Yep, I had always bought new oil pump for the motors I build in the past but recently I took one apart and read the '87 FSM and now it seems like a waste to not rebuild/reuse it.
