Welcome to the Forum
Not sure about electronic files, but ... For an '87 GLHS you'll need the 87 Mopar L-Body books and also a GLHS supplement you should be able to get from www.sdac.org
What number car you got? pics?

Bumping this up. It would be great if somebody could scan ANY FSM and keep an online archive. I'm not sure if Chrysler would be happy about it, but that's never stopped people before
I was considering doing this for my own personal needs, but there's 2 things stopping me:
1) I can't bear to spend the endless hours needed to flip the pages and hold a book on my home scanner
2) I'd need to sacrifice a service manual to run it through a automatic scanner @ kinkos or the like, and I don't really have spare FSM's laying around to slice the binding off of or risk having the pages chewed.
3) copywrite laws

Yep... I wonder how libraries get away with it?
Hey wait a minute, maybe we should buy Library.com and scan everything!

I know at one of the colleges I attended the library had a deal with their ebook provider that only allowed so many licenses at once to be in use. That's how they restricted how many 'copies' of a book can be checked out at once.
There's a whole big deal going on right now with Google and Harvard trying to do the same thing.
sorry, its been a while since ive been able to get on, i have number 253, ill get some pictures in a little bit when i can, its in pretty nice shape, needs a couple things, but overall great shape. had it a month and just drove it to vegas from salt lake for MATS. the day after we got there developed a slight coolant leak that seemed to fix itself, but other than that i was actually very impressed that it made it there with no issues, and at 32 mpg's also. ill have to look into seeing if i can get those books. thanks.
Cool, sounds like a nice car!

why couldn't we get permission from Chrysler? you guys ever use Mitchell on demand? noticed how everything is "used with permission from Chrysler"
maybe we jsut need to ask?

Other than limited parts support chrysler has IMO pretty much cut all ties with our generation of cars and wants nothing to do with them.
Thats what the AMC guys did and were given full permission to scan and convert their FSM's and other service literature to electronic copies.
I sent them an email about permission to distribute (freely of course) digital copies of the FSMs. I'll let you guys know when/if they respond.
Ok, they sent me an email back. I have to mail a letter and some other things to the Chrysler Public Relations department. I'll work on getting that typed up and sent out this weekend or Monday.
Just an update, still haven't heard back from them yet. Maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow.
Ive got some 89 and 90 daytona fsm's. It would be great if we had an online fsm library for all our cars. Let us know what they say for sure. Its been a while since I talked to them but I used to talk to some people at mopar racing and dodge motorsports alot. If whoever your dealing with is being difficult, ill try to send some emails are make a call to see if there is someone else in the company we can deal with.
Ok I'll let you know if I need another contact. Right now I've just faxed everything in and haven't heard anything else. I'll be giving them a call tomorrow to see what's up.
