All engine blocks are the same bore to start with. Of course chrysler had 5 different "standard" bore sizes so ymmv on what you've got.

So Cindy, the stock bore size is 3.445, what is the wear tolerance/max size? I came across a TIV block I want to use. Thanks!

    Re: 2.2/2.5 stock bore size

and i purchased a low mileage (57k) 93 tbi block hoping the bores would still have a tight clearance. i want to put some stock t3 pistons in it, and im hoping i can get away without boring it because the crosshatch is perfect (theres not even carbon build up at the ridge).

will i need to open up the block for the expanding t3 pistons, or should a stock bore be close? the t3 pistons are higher mileage (120k) and im hoping they will work. i still need to measure them, but im willing to bore the block or have the skirts coated if i have to. i just dont know what the clearance is for stock t3 pistons...

They are all the same, minus a few though for production tolerances, but nothing huge, like .010"

The MP gasket will work up to .040" overbore.

I believe the max taper allowed is .003-.005, but I can double check tomorrow.

They use roughly the same clearance as cast, I'll double check tomorrow.

Boring the block won't work as then they'll be too small. If they are indeed to tight and your bores are straight, you can have them honed by a machine shop to remove a small amount.

    Re: 2.2/2.5 stock bore size

i actually meant HONE the block if i HAVE to, but if the tolerances are same as the cast that i pulled out (even though its tbi?), then that will be perfect. thats why i pulled this block, hoping that the low mileage blocks wear will make it the same tolerances that i would need for the stock t3 pistons. thanks
