Front 2" drop springs for L-body

Would anyone be interested if I could get my hands on say pair. I found a spring company to make them to factory spec, but with a 2" drop.

Originals were 90lb spring rate, LRE's 1" drops are 220lb spring rate.

Do you think 220lb would be sufficient?

    Just a thought.

I like them on my page. Ride height with them is just about perfect.

Wait, you have 2" drop springs? If so where did you get them? I thought all the ones in the market were 1".

Re: Front 2" drop springs for L-body

To lower the front of my Horizon, I purchased some Ebay coil overs for a 2nd gen Neon. The adjusting sleeves fit perfect on my KYB GR2 struts. I used the springs marked "rear" on the front of mine because I wanted to retain a relatively soft front suspension, but you can order Eibach springs from Ground Control in any rate you want.

Originally I wanted to order a full set of Ground Control CO's for my car, but the sales guy would not sell me a partial set. Only all four corners.

They generally go for $50-80 on ebay. Looks like you can lower it 3" or more if you wanted to, and if the struts will compress that much. They're adjustable.

I removed the entire lower spring mount for tire clearance... but you don't have to at all.

Re: Front 2" drop springs for L-body

So contraption, how are the "dropzone" Ebay sleeves and springs holding up. I have read 1001 bad comments about their quality, but I am pretty sure it is because of the wrong spring rate and such OR that they were underengineered for some of the applications.

I am not going to race, just sport around.

I got a good quote on a pair of the 2" drop springs that this thread is based on, so I am thinking EBAY crap is scaring me........

i didnt hav to remove any of my lower spring perch? i used 02 civic ground control coil overs and they worked fine. i just purchased some neon ones that look awsome, and work good, just dont kno if they were 1st or second gen? one of the 2 is way to short because the spring and collar. i also had to grind a little off the top of the strut body where the bump stop hits so the collar would slide over. if your lowering it, cut the bump stop in half.

Sorry but you posts are very confusing at times. So you don't drive the vehicle and they are holding up, or they don't see any TRACK use?

I was referring to the sleeve and coil (for the 2nd gen NEON) that goes over the stock strut. To run a taller tire, it is required to trim the lower spring perch.

Soooo, 02 civic FULL coilovers will bolt in PLACE of an L-body strut?

YOu also mentioned you have NEON coilovers, are these FULL or just the sleeve and spring? What happened to the Civic ones? For Sale?

So nobody would want just a stock version spring, 2" lower?

    Thanks guys!!!!!!

Re: Front 2" drop springs for L-body

Ground control only makes the sleeve and springs.
If you look in the suspension forum, I posted some pics
of my GLH with Mopar springs with one coil cut off.
It was pratically resting on the bump stop.
I ended up using stock springs with 1/4 coil cut off.

Re: Front 2" drop springs for L-body

    Thanks!

I think I am going to finish lowering the back and then make a educated decision on the front.

    Thanks Again!

Re: Front 2" drop springs for L-body

    No not Civic coilover assemblies.
In the other thread I posted a link to Ground Control products.
They have sleeve and spring assemblies.
There are a few threads on here where people are using 2nd gen. Neon struts,
I don't see why coilover assemblies could't be used.
    Civic struts don't work.

Re: Front 2" drop springs for L-body

TO clarify, I am using sleeves and springs, not full coilovers. Mine were for a 2nd gen Neon. I cannot say that 1st gens will not fit.
