    Most of those cheap deep cycle batteries are not the real ones with the thick plates. They are kind of hybrids between starter batteries and thick plate bats. Find a forklift bat distributor, like Crown.

    Sub C's are hit and miss on lifespan and capacity.. I wouldn't count on bargain cells performing well. Besides that.. charging is impossible with a large pack. Not to mention assembly.

    I still want to see a 50hp e-spree.. :P

    Well, my 50hp motor is WAY too big to fit on a scooter and you need a LOT of cells to get kW = to 50hp. It would be neat to see.

    50hp worth of RC cells you could probably carry the pack under one arm. Won't get many miles, and will cost a lot, but getting it to fit is no problem.
