    I have had reasonable luck using rubbing compound to shine up the paint where the clear has peeled. Then put a good coat of wax on it. You can only do that so many times before you start to wear the paint thin; so keep it waxed well so the paint doesn't oxidize.

    I've always used the 3M Perfect it as the final step to get the swirls out and it works great. Usually on a foam pad with the fingers as mentioned above.
