Dude, I'm rooting for you to get the Omni ready. The amount of time and effort you've put into it, it's about time to show it off! If you need some help, LMK!

I'm not going. Waiting to install the new Mahles and waiting for another turbo. Wont make it in time and plus it's too damn far. Wish it were closer to home. Most people aren't even bringing their TM's. Rentals like Frank.

Re: The BIG are you going to SDAC-16?!

Good news for folks that may decide at the last minute to go to SDAC-16 & the SRT Nationals. The folks at SRT have decided that they will take registration on site for the autocross and drag racing events. Previously their policy was for only advance registration via their website, but they realize that policy, if held to, could possibly backfire with a large number of folks being turned away at the gate.

The road course driving school is essentially full with only cancellations providing new spots, and those spots being filled from a waiting list. They will not be accepting payments to attend the SRT awards night/banquet on site either. If you want to attend the SRT banquet, you must still register in advance on the SRT Nats website, www.srtnationals.org

As it stands now, anyone that shows up at the gate will be able to purchase a spectator/guest pass, or registration for either the drag racing or autocross events. Remember too that the drag racing is being held for 2 days and nearly 20 hours, with racing under the lights on Friday evening. As a bonus they have doubled the number of goody bags to be handed out, from the first 200 paid registrations to the first 400.

As for SDAC-16 registrations, mail in pre-registrations must be mailed by July 7th. There was an SDAC-16 pre-registration form in the last issue of Up Front, and there is also one available for download on the SDAC website www.sdac.org. Also on the website, pre-registration can be done online with payment via PayPal through July 15th. And as at all past SDAC events, we will accept onsite registration also.

I have updated the SDAC website with the SDAC-16 schedule and a map of the location of the car show, Gage Park. www.sdac.org

If I can get the time off with a new job I'll be there! It's too close not to go if I can help it. No job at the moment, time off will probably be nonexistant with a new one.

I would love to go, but it's unlikely. If the rebuilt A568 for my R/T shows up in the next few days and I can put enough miles on it to break the new clutch in by July 19th, I'll go..

Meh, put enough miles on it so you beleive it's reliable and go. It's worth it. I bought my R/T on a Sunday and drove it to SDAC15 that Friday night. Over 2300 miles on the car in 8 days.

If you get there late enough Sunday afternoon, we'll be gone. The car show is scheduled to end by 3pm.

Re: The BIG are you going to SDAC-16?!

Let me see if I understand...you live 45 minutes away and you are going to be there around noon on Sunday?!? Do you think there will be another event this close to you ever again? If you aren't there for every minute you can be you will be sorry and possibly upset with yourself later for having missed out. For those that have never been to an SDAC annual event before, it is AN EXPERIENCE. The best times are the hanging out in the parking lot meeting, greeting, looking, learning, and living for all things turbo Mopar. I always experience such a downer after I leave that I'm usually bummed for about a week after I get back because I know it will be another year before I get to see friends and cars again. I know those that haven't been won't understand what I'm saying. All I can say is, if you have the opportunity to go and don't, you are missing out big time. If you go, you will discover and understand what I'm talking about.

17.5 hours away from Middletown, Pa by mapquest (1100+ miles). How much is diesel in the midwest? I'll be there Tuesday to Monday also.
Sure I'm not the furthest away that's driving. Let's hear how far everyone else is!

In Mich it is about the same price as mid grade or premium gas. But prices vary by about a dime depending on what side of town we're on here.

If Alan comes from Cal, that may be a little further. I know folks coming from Florida too, and that is further. On the SRT Forums, there is a guy coming from Alaska.

There are a lot of folks flying in, both for our event and for the SRT.

Yep, Tim Kibby, from Sitka, AK. This will be the third year he's driven his SRT4 to the Nats. Great guy, and no youngster; he's in his 50s, I think. It takes him the first day just to get to the mainland by ferry. He's put more miles on his car driving to and from the Nats than he has in daily driving for the last three years!

what time do you guys think you'll be at Gage Park for the car show, i can always leave earlier

it sucks that i won't be able to make it for any of the fun stuff at the track
Diesel seems to be running around $2.95gal here, it may be a little cheaper in topeka-we seem to run about 5c higher here for diesel.
if you guys want, i can post the current price for this area tomorrow

ARRGH, scheduling conflicts at work now Sometimes it sucks to have your own business So since I have to cut the trip down to bare bones, I started looking at flights today. Why can't I fly into Topeka?? None of the carriers fly into there, is it a tiny little aiport or what? They want me to fly into another airport 45miles away. I rather be bumming rides in TD's than be driving myself in a stinkin rental The 45 miles from airport to host hotel is gonna kill that plan I think

The car show is scheduled to start at 9am. We will tally the votes about noon or so, hand out the awards at the show, and be out of there by about 3pm. Hope you can make it. Be sure to stop by the SDAC tent, introduce yourself and say Hi!
