Host Hotel
The Host Hotel for SDAC-20 will be the Clarion Hotel & Hager Hall Conference Center in Hagerstown MD. The discounted room rate for the SDAC block of rooms is $85 per night plus tax.
To make your reservations call toll free 888-528-6738 or locally at 301-733-5100. Mention that you are with the Shelby Dodge Auto Club to get the discount rate and so that SDAC will get credit for your reservation.
The cutoff date for reservations to the SDAC block of rooms is May 26, 2010. Reservations made after that date may not get the negotiated discount room rate, and it is possible they may not have sufficient rooms. So it is advisable to make your reservations prior to May 26 if at all possible.
There are a few things that need to be mentioned regarding the motel. First off, when making your reservations make them only for the nights you actually intend on staying. Their policy is to charge for rooms nights that have been reserved even if folks check out a day or two early. If you are not sure if you are staying for the entire event, I would suggest you make your reservation for the shortest time you think you may stay and then add days as necessary after you arrive on site.
Also, the entire hotel is non-smoking, and pets are not allowed. Violations of either of these rules will cause an extra $250 to be added to the room bill for each day the violation exists.

Folks, I got a call from the sales director at the host hotel about our room block. So far less than a dozen folks have made reservations. Our room block expires May 26, about 2 weeks from now.
The motel will release all rooms not reserved by that date, and by contract SDAC is responsible to pay for rooms that are not reserved out of that block by that date. This could be a bill presented to us well into the thousands of dollars, a bill which we simply cannot afford to pay.
Please, we need folks to make their reservations as soon as possible.

It has been 20 years since our first SDAC convention. As part of recognizing this landmark in our history, we are planning a reunion of SDAC-1 attendees for this year's event. If you were one of the 40-50 that attended SDAC-1, we want you to attend SDAC-20. The recognition and celebration is still in the planning stages, but it will be a special and memorable event!

Just to let you all know, pre-registration for SDAC-20 will
close tomorrow morning.
While we started off slowly and registrations seemed to be
dragging, we are at 95 pre-registered. This is only a
little below normal and if we get the normal on site
registrations then we will be in the 130's to 140's total.
Still only a little below normal.
Thanks to all of you that have pre-registered as having the
funds to pay the bills prior to the event has been somewhat
challenging, but we did make it (so far).
In other news since our last newsletter, we have picked up 2
more sponsors. FWD Performance is sponsoring the autocross,
and TurbosUnleashed is sponsoring the Awards Night. This
brings the total sponsors to 5, including Turbo-Mopar.com,
Positive Impressions, and one anonymous sponsor.
