A hollow tube of the same material, closed on one end, grease fitting on the other, and little holes drilled all around it to let the grease out on the mating surfaces

Don't mean I don't want my doors to swing smooth as a Bugatti's Besides, it's not like it'd be hard to make. Maybe I'll try it on my GLHS.

Better wear material and actually making the hinge to NOT be servicable, they can make it a stronger design that doesnt wear so badly like the old school, steel pin on bronze bushing setup the K based cars use. A seperate door check strap also helps.

If you do, please take some pics. I'm not against modding my car to better support the doors and give them some longevity.

Thanks for the answer, I honestly don't know how doors are done nowadays other than a hinge type.

    Re: l-body door pins

What about a pin made of something like oil-impregnated bronze? Brass?

I was thinking of a post that rides on bearings or something.

    Re: l-body door pins

Hmm, I was thinking of a bronze or brass sleeves in the door side and a impregnated solid pin. The main problem is that the door side of the hinges have no bushings or sleeves, so it's just a steel roll pin in a steel hinge. Which is why it rusts and/or wears out.
