    Possible bad heater core?

I noticed some coolant leaking from my car the other day, in an unusual area for coolant to be. It was dripping from the k frame on the passenger side. So I jacked the car up and looked around and saw that it was coming from the hose that I think is for a/c condensation. Also, it smells like coolant in my car with the heater on. I checked the price on one and it was only $36. But how hard is it to swap out on an 89 csx?

    Thanks

to me yess , but coolant would go inside the car too , maybe the smell come from the engine bay and find a way inside your car

Coolant dripping out of the a/c vent is a heater core leaking. Without a/c, it leaks inside the car, yuck.

    Re: Possible bad heater core?

sounds like a heater core for sure. I did one in my shadow a while back. Just drop the column down and pull the whole dash. It is way easier to do that than to get the HVAC box out with the dash half in IMO. I had an ignition switch go bad at the same time and it took me 6mo. to trouble shoot that bad lad. I thought I had messed up wiring under the dash due to pulling it too hard.
