Are these aftermarket parts worth buying cheap?

Simply put I'm new into this game and new to these parts until I get further into learning the upgrades I might need later,as much as I'd like to think I'm somewhat mechanically inclined, turbocharged cars are not my strong area.

I have a 1989 2.2 T2 common block w/ stock Garrett to put in my project Shelby charger, and ran across these items I think are nicely priced, but might not last for long.

Will I have a use for these items, maybe later when I know what I'm doing?
I'd hate to have a great deal pass me by due to my lack of knowledge now.

these were out of a Avenger 420a motor(2.0)

Megasquirt MS1 v3.0(setup for a 420a motor, unlike mine) with universal harness. under $200

    Apexi Twin Chamber BOV $50

    Walbro 255lph for $70
Fits 95-99 420a equipped Eclipse/Talon/Sebring/Avenger...worth modifying for my app?

MSD 72lb Fuel Injectors $200 ^same as above

Hahn Super 16g Turbo $250 ,useless to my application?

Any bits of info or opinions are welcome,if any of these are useless to store until I work with them, please let me know if I'm wasting my time and effort on items like these.

Good deal but for the same amount, you can get an Ostrich and use the factory computer and do your own cals, without any rewiring.

No idea, Talon 1st Gen works great though.

Not sure what it looks like but for $25 more, you get one that fits,

Wicked price and you'll need them if you want to push 400+ HP.

Its a good turbo but will require alot of mods to fit, so not really worth it unless you want to flip it.

MS is great, I guess it boils down to what you want or how much rewiring you want to do. The stock stuff is now just as good as REAL standalones but with factory features and options, plus no rewiring.

avoid the Walbro...there are there tons of Chinese clones on the market and when they are that cheap it is usually a clone you are buying that won't last long.

Re: Are these aftermarket parts worth buying cheap?

My advice...if you are like me and can't throw a ton of money at the hobby all at once.

Don't just buy stuff because it's a good deal...especially if it's a dime a dozen stuff. How much of that will you use in the next year? A lot can change in a year! Megasquirts will always be continually evolving. By the time you get around to using it you will want the newest one and that one will be outdated...see what I mean?

Do a bunch of reading and learn. Get a plan together on what you want out of your build...then start buying parts a little bit here and there.

Re: Are these aftermarket parts worth buying cheap?

Ive been reading but there is so many variables in the way members have done things to their cars, I think I have vapor lock of the mind, lol.

I really want my setup to be up to date effective, the BOV for instance has some factors in it I have noooo idea if its hype or really a good design,or is not needed.
    http://www.intakeone.com/apexi/APEXI...amber_BOV.html

as far as Megasquirt, thank goodness that an alternative that has less rocket science wiring involved.

And as far as a fuel pump, unreliable clone is the last thing I want to throw the dice on,plus I gotta see what others have done to their L-bodies on that subject.I know the l-body setup differs, along with many other things w/L bodies.

I kinda thought the injectors were overkill,I am now trying to figure out if a FFV injector is the way to go incase I want to add the safety to my setup later.

I think my plan is simple really I want a fun machine,ET's dont matter much right now to me,I'm not into the risks of street racing, just highway foolin around at the most, maybe the occasional unproductive ruin your front tire events for kicks, lol.

I think I'll work out a plan, like Bad Andy suggested.

Also its too bad,I missed the event(s) today ,because I could have made it,if i knew about it maybe a week earlier, but there is next time, cuz I need to see what others do/did.

Oh well I've typed enuff in one post, and these questions/thoughts are probably discussed 20 times a month already, lol.
