    Select-a-ride struts

My 87 GLHS has gold color struts, with select-a-ride labels on them. They appear to be in good shape with no leakage. There is an adjustment on the top for a knob similar to but not the same as Koni. I'm looking for any info, including adjustment info. Was this a poor-man's koni or ??? I'm thinking these were made by KYB, nothing I have found says KYB on it so far.

I recall KYB making a select-a-ride strut. I know nothing about it though. Have you googled?

I had bought a new pair for my first GLH back in 89. They were good!
They have a 4 position selector o the top.

Google led me to a discussion in '03 on TD.com, that dealt mainly with gas-adjust. Also found that select-a-ride is still popular with Nissan Z-cars and some tuners. Nothing on the adjustment method tho.

Can you tell me how the adjustments were made? Looks like a special tool was used. Still have it? Thanks.

Yes a knob with a slot in it was used. No I do not have it, that was 13 years ago. Just use a mini adjustable wrench.
