wtf the throttle cable is longer for TBI cars?! is this just for AA bodies or did I somehow completely forget this? can I use a cable off a V6 car?

    Re: Throttle cable!

I once had an issue using a V6 cable on a TII setup. The cable was just too long...

For a temporary solution you can tie a knot in it on the pedal end (to make it shorter) until you get the right one.

If you have the one that is too short then you are probably SOL.

    Re: Throttle cable!

The TBI and carb cables are longer and have different ends. The V6 cable is shorter than a turbo cable IIRC, because it doesn't have to curl back 180* around to the TB, it just goes in a 90. So yeah, if you have a T1 1-piece or a 2-piece intake, you're about screwed unless you can get a hold of a 88-up T1/T2 cable, or rig it somehow.

    Re: Throttle cable!

You can modify the throttle cable if you can get a good crimp on the ball at one of the ends of the cable. I did it a while back to clean up the clutter in the engine bay. I did the end that mounts to the throttle body, but you may be able to do the end where it hooks on to the pedal.

I have heard this can leave stuck on the side of the road.

You should be able to buy them new at the normal parts stores for 30 bucks.

Yes, but that's what the busted radials from tractor trailers is for, to mend a broken one. That is the downside.
