    A little better!

Went and made a few more runs with my new combo last night. Still have alot of tuning bugs to work out. My previous best run on pure street tires with this setup was an 8.88 @ 83mph staged to 15psi. I set up a 3rd stage of boost to 20psi at the 2nd gear shift point. My best was an 8.63 @ 87mph- 2.10 60' I need to dial in a little more power without breaking traction in first gear and add about 500rpm of stall to the converter. It doesn't stall high enough with this turbo. This turbo doesn't make real good power until 5000rpm up. I feel a higher stall could be worth .5 in ET and 5 to 7 mph. At least that's what Kevin Davis picked up using the same turbo from raising the stall! I'm also going to add more boost to the 3rd stage. I want 7's on street tires bad! But I was pleased, I almost matched my best ever time on streets which was an 8.59 @ 82mph. I had alot better 60' and 330 ET on that pass. Next time I will beat that time.

I have never run 1/8 mile and don't have a grasp of what your times mean exactly, about what would your car do in the 1/4? I know it's quick with over 80 mph at the 1/8 mile!

Well, the 8.63 pass with the topend charge this engine has would have been a high 12 second pass in the 1/4 mile on pure street tires (pulls hard from 5000 rpm to rev limit of 6650rpm). That's why I need the stall on the convertor raised to keep the engine in the powerband. The engine is fallen out of the powerband a little with every gear change right now. This turbo is just starting to wake up at 20psi & above. Iam going to turn up the wick a little more for the next thrashing. I'm raising the boost levels slowly, I want to keep tabs on what is going on. I'm hoping at the next outing I will bust 90+ mph. We'll see

Thanks. With slicks I feel like I could have trapped more MPH. Iam throwing away a ton of power on the launch and through 1st gear to run good on street tires! It's getting there!
