    Sealing suspension component against rusting

For the rear suspension the metal mounting cups for the bumpstops like to collect water and sand which = lots of rust & rot

After doing the paint coating and attaching everything if getting some paraffin wax and melting it down to pour in the inside of that cup to fill it completely would work to seal it up ? and if for some reason I had to remove the bumpstop I could just heat it up with the torch and melt it back out. any other ideas ?

Rust Bullet works very well to prevent further rust.

But the problem will be water collecting in there and staying there. no coating will survive being essentially emersed in water 24/7/365 and drilling drain holes wouldnt be ideal.

Could use a bunch of silicone to seal it up and keep water/dirt out of there. Or fabricate a sheet metal plate that sandwiches between the mount and the body to keep stuff out.

I would think the wax from a toilet bowl ring would work fairly well and be very cheap.

Been here and done this before. Use black silicone liberally around the mounting surface and bolt it down.
