THIS IS NOT OUR CAR SO DON"T ASK ABOUT IT"S HISTORY!
Yesterday John Fleck(Fleckster) and I went to Illinois to pick up a Plymouth Scamp(his new project) and to make a long story short we ran across this other car, a '91 Spirit R/T. Remember the car is 3-4 hours away from us, so these are all the pics we have.
The owner stated the following:
-80K orig miles
-ALL ORIG PARTS ARE THERE AND ON MOTOR/TRANS! EVERYTHING!!!
-motor does NOT run- he said it had an oil pump failure(probably the int shaft Fleck and I deduced)
-oil pan is missing as it was removed to determine engine failure and was never reinstalled
What we noted:
-Excellent body integrity(aka virtually NO underbody rust!)
-Almost immaculate interior
-needs typical paint issues resolved, but no bare metal/primer
-needs front passenger window(cracked, but tint is holding it together- pics)
-needs tires
-needs headliner
-needs some ground effects reattached to body(pulling away- as pics show)
-needs new grill(cracked as seen in pics)
Here's the catch...
It's cheap, really cheap for what it is. He knows what it is but he is an older guy and is NOT internet savvy at all. He wants to get $800 for it as it sits. I would imagine it could be taken for a little bit less too. Fleck and I decided this: We will give whomever wants it all the information we have on this car(contact info) and you can take it yourself for what he is asking IF you or the new owner intends to put it back together and either then sell it or keep it for themselves. It cannot be parted out because of it's incredible overall condition. It is too nice to send down the road in pieces.
Fleck and I both saw this car up close so we can give as much info as we know. It is NOT going anywhere, so don't freak out thinking it's going to be gone or sold out from under you. It's been there for a long time and it will still be there for sure. I don't do TD's anymore(obviously) and Fleck is armpit deep in TD's. We know parted out this could pull serious money and we could easily recoup what we have in it and then some, but we felt that would be wrong. Feel free to PM me or Fleck about the car, but we aren't taking calls unless we call you back. He is busy, as am I, and again, the car is going nowhere.
Edit: Fleck and I DO have the pics in a slightly larger format, but the resolution isn't perfect due to it being a camera phone. PM either of us for those if you are serious about the car. Later gents and gals...
