    Couple questions

Awhile back (over a year ago) I asked about powdercoating and if anyone knew of a place in MD that could do an entire rear axle. Well that time has come and I cant find the thread where someone here recommended a place up near Baltimore ?

Also, when removing the old rubber from the rear axle pivot bushings. I've gotten most of the old crap burned/scraped out of there but theres still some very stubborn chunks that refuse to let go. I was going to try some acetone or MEK and soak them. Or would that do nothing to melt/soften the rubber ?

These are good, however I find that fire is the most expedient way to get it out.

Yeah I took the mapp torch to them. But theres still that remaining 'residue' that wont come off. I'm getting eveything powdercoated and they need to be 100% clean.

I see. I never had any remaining chunks left over when I burned mine out. The powdery stuff would probably come right off if you used some gasoline.

    Fire... Check.

    Gasoline... Check.

I think you can solve about any problem you encounter from here on out.

I dont think sandblasting would remove the bonded on rubber remains. Just bouce off of it ?

I don't believe so. Sometimes it is just hard to find things with the search for me though.
