    Custom Intake

I decided to make a custom intake so i cut the roof and elbow off of my one piece intake and ported the top of the runners. Then I used a 3.0 V6 elbow and made a bigger plenum and elbow. Hopefully it'll greatly increase flow and power! I Will keep you updated!

Not in a daytona, but I could see it hitting in a L-body.

Ha ha ya i'm planning grinding and then trying to get a clean weld and polish! Or just paint it all!

Thanx for all the compliments everybody! I'm not too worried about clearance, the back sheet isn't angled as far as it looks in the pics, its only slightly more than the angle of the stock manifold.

    not bad for 1st attempt!!

the 1 thing i really noticed; you did not bother 2 shorten the runners???

so you have all that dead air/plenum space in front of the runners where the egr is that wont be contributing too much

either way, still better then a stock manny! let us know how it works.

    Re: Custom Intake

I'm forced to believe that will be an improvement. Much better than anything I could do since I can't weld too.

You may want to think about some smoother transitions for the next time though. With a little more work you probably could pick up a good deal of efficiency in that piece.

    I had heard that long runners=more torque . . . short runners=high rpm.
With this car i'm just planning on keeping the stock internals so high rpm's wasn't my goal.

Ya i was just looking for an improvement and it only cost me about $15 for the whole thing so i'm happy with it!

I'm hoping it will be an improvement!

What areas in specific do you think could use some smoother transitions? Any help would be great, Thanx.

See JT's comment in your other thread. I think that making a smooth transition out of that neck would go a long way in efficiency.

Ok i'll have to try that on the next one. I've already finished this one so it's too late now but oh well. I'm making another one for my brother so I guess we'll be able to see if there are any major differences!
