What does it take to build a super fast (10-11 second) TM?

Hey guys, Ive been thinking a lot and was wondering exactly how much money and what exactly is needed to build a mid-high 10 second or low 11 second turbo-mopar. Im talking mostly engine and fuel system right now, not really suspension.

Or better yet what does it take to build a car that traps in the 130's!

Please give thoughtful or insightful answers, and dont just say "lots of money" or something stupid

EDIT: Traction aside, what does it take.. Im more or less wondering how much pure power it will take and and how to get there

It takes a lot of traction from what I've seen.

My short answer would be, if you have to ask what it takes to build a 10 second car, you can't manage it. Seriously if you SEARCH and LEARN from this board you will KNOW what it takes...

A T4 turbo, direct-port nitrous injection, and a stand-alone fuel management system. Not a bad way to spend ten thousand dollars.

Oh, sorry, I've been watching The Fast and the Furious again.

    Ditto, LOL!

There are SEVERAL ways to get a sub-12 second car.

One can gut a car to nothing like we did with the SDAC-Chicago NYer... went mid 12's with a STOCK T2 longblock on a 150k mile junk trans, probably could have went 11's on a strong trans.

One can spend over $10k (even well over) on a car and have a 10 or 11 second car thats not gutted and is a lot nicer car to have.

And there is anything in between

So to better answer your question, you might have to figure out what you want to build and how you want to built it first as there are many many ways to get there.

You beat me to it.... I don't think it is really hard these days as the parts are all out there. You just have to buy them and install them.

Net HP = Weight in pounds* (Speed {end of the 1/4 in MPH} /228.4)^3

    or

    Speed {end of the 1/4 in MPH} =228.4*(Net HP/Weight)^.333

I was thinking you pay someone to tune them The tune is very important... but I wasn't going in to detail just a high level overview.

weight in going to be a big decider in how much power your gonna need, considering there's a 1000lb difference between the heaviest and lightest TDs. along those same lines is whether its a DD or a track car or somewhere in between.
