Just got my bushings in the mail. Reading through the instructions they say to use heat to remove the old bushings. I don't really have access to a torch. Anyone have success just pounding/prying out the old stock bushings?

You have a drill? You can work the drill bit into the rubber a SHORT distance, over and over until you destroy the all rubber.
Great stuff for great cars! Poly engine mounts and bushings at: http://www.polybushings.com
go buy one. They're cheap enough and make the job and and other's much easier.
a propane torch will do it eventually.
Have you tried destroying them with an air chisel? It's possible but not fun. cheap torch is a good investment. You'll never get the old ones out by pounding/prying. Get a cheapy propane torch and burn 'em out. It's about the only way...really.

Sometimes they are $29 or less:

I use mine once in a while for small press jobs and it worked to get the bushings out of my wife's G20 control arms.

thanks guys! Bought a small plumbing torch from Wallly. Didn't realize how cheap they really are. I mean CHEAP!! I'm gonna have some fun this weekend hehe
I too have burned bushings out with a propane or map gas torch. I also have a press which I can take them out with too. Either way works.
