    Overboost?

Due to a rather old engine I never really got over 4 lbs in my 88 shelby z. All of a sudden one day it doubles...why would this happen? Is something really wrong? or is something really right?

    Re: Overboost?

I wouldn't call that overboost. There a tons of reasons, vacuum lines, wastegaste issues, computer issues, exhaust plugging up/fell off.

Exhaust has no cat...muffler fell off sometime ago and was replaced with a oval style muffler...

I did a comp test and got 100 80 80 80 in that order...is it possible my rings shifted to allow more compression? Until now I never got my car over 5 lbs...

    Re: Overboost?

    Again, see what I wrote.

If your that concerned about running 8 psi, then hook the wastegate can straight to manifold vacuum, that will limit you to around 4-5 psi.

    Re: Overboost?

CB is more beefier.it is used when goin over 250 HP,other than that and a fuel block off plate nothing.check the parts for sale area for a TII motor or rebuild the bottom end

    Re: Overboost?

Nope, common block started in 89. Easy way to ID in either direction is that older non common blocks have a fuel pump blockoff plate (next to the water pump) where on all common blocks it looks like an undrilled boss with no holes and no plate.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?
