    Re: 1984 Rampage Rebuild - Project R'age

I was asked to do this project and no real support except for the money.

I honed some of my rusty skills, but that was about it. lol

I am not a Dodge guy and never really had any passion for the vehicle.

I just wanted it done and out of my garage.

Little things have kept it off the road; like my CTSV, my new Bike project and spending time with the family.

Not looking to make money, or even break even, just want it done at this point.

In fact, if anyone wants any parts, I am willing to start parting it at this point, as I am not afraid to take the pile down to the junkyard and get $200 for it.

I was prepared to take a loss on this vehicle when we bought it.

It appears the market has really dried up for Rampages. lol

Oh well, it will either be sold in the next 6 months or I will have it sent to the crusher and just get scrap value for it......

Making friends and fans here with that post 54! I can respect the family angle keeping you from a project car, most of us with kids have been thereWe're just kinda regular folk here tho, maybe not so bad a s s as to have a CTS AND a bike project. Scrap it then, congrats on making a Rampage look like a ricer That painted interior is really the rage in the Honda circles in my region Enjoy your other exploits!...

    Re: 1984 Rampage Rebuild - Project R'age

Not trying to piss everyone off at all, just not my bag of goodies.

By me saying I am not a Dodge guy, that is in no way a bad thing or have any reflection on anyone here. Just a fact. I would buy a dodge long before a ford and WAY before an import!!!!!!

I am just not a dodge enthusiast and was trying to respond to your statement about sticking it away in the corner of the garage.

I would rather one of you enthusiast that have the passion for this car to have it in YOUR garage; at whatever price.

And I am regular folk too, and I have busted my --- for everything that I have, so not sure why you are getting all mad bro. lol (Had to do it!)

The CSTV had 90k on it when I bought it for $16k and the bike project is a 1980 Yamaha XS650 in boxes, so let's not get all crazy and think I have a 2014 CTSV and a new Duc or something.

    lol

I don't think I painted really anything in the interior to make it look ricerish. Thanks for the bashing though; just making my skin thicker.

Black and white waterfall to compliment the lines of the interior is all.

To each their own I guess.

Still for sale, trade, or for parts.

To get any decent money out of this you really needed to do a turbo swap. It would have appealed to a lot more people I think. Even then, you are asking almost nice 89 CSX money (pinnacle of the TM world IMO) for a clean carb rampage... there may be a buyer out there but they are going to be hard to find. Id honestly stick it on ebay and take what you can get.

its pretty cool looking. to much into it not to keep it though. If you were not really into the TD scene or wanted to be, I dont understand why you embarked on the journey to begin with. These cars are fun to play with (like someone else mentioned...you may appreciate it and have more fun with it if you turbo'ed the thing) to think your gonna get much of anything back unless its a Whittier car, is kinda foolhardy. Im sure it must say in here somewhere your reason for building it.

    1984 Rampage Rebuild - Project R'age

I see this a fitting thread to post my first post since I now own this fine price of machinery.

Adam did some amazing work and kept great track of all the purchases for it, I picked it up this morning and after getting it home I decided to cruise my subdivision, aside from needing smaller tires that don't rub it drives awesome.

    Welcome! Glad to have you!

I guess i won't have to cruise by Adam's on Sunday to see if he wants to trade anymore. Figures it would go within days of me finally being in a position to do something! haha

Update: installed a new fuel pump, old one gave out.
Took a few measurements on the rear inner fender liner, wanting to run a wide tire out back for looks. With a bit of trimming I can fit a 235/50r17 out back and run a 225/45r17 up front. May lose the ez- inch block to lift it up just a hair.

    Re: 1984 Rampage Rebuild - Project R'age

235/50 is a pretty tall tire. My opinion is that it won't look right unless you are tucking a lot of tire back there but lifting the back would be going the wrong direction for that. Also, the 6" wide SRT wheels will not fit 225 and 235 tires very well. Are you planning to buy some different wheels? If so you might be able to find something with just the right width/offset to let you fill the available space with as much tread width as possible.

    Re: 1984 Rampage Rebuild - Project R'age

    I ordered a 235/40, 235/50, 245/40
To test fit I am thinking of getting new rims also but I'm not a small car guy I've only ever dealt with large trucks and floatation tires in the 38" and larger range. Gonna stick with the 205/40 up front

Ok, the 40 series sidewall is WAY shorter than the 50 so i think you will be ok there.

    Re: 1984 Rampage Rebuild - Project R'age

The 235/40 is 1.85" shorter than the 50 @ 40psi on the rim with no weight on it. Both are 9.25" wide, which is 1.8" wider than the 205 that was rubbing so I need to clearance 2" and roll the outer fender a hair or 2
