The Tool Shed goes even faster, 13.6@98 mph but Oops, I did it again, :(

Get there, no one there again, Hemidare is on his way, Whorse is there. Install slicks, 2 gallons C16 in my almost empty tank, alky system working. I weigh my van, holy sh*t she got heavier, 3520lbs with me in it, I weigh 190 lbs.

Were called, of to the lanes I go, the finger pointing starts, Ohhh, theres THAT minivan again. Do a nice burnout, stage and off I go, she's pulling hard, I have a few farts due to the alky near 5500 but i absolutey waste a Turbo Civic. I get my slip and scream like a little girl, 1.9 60ft and 13.67@98.14 mph, at 25 psi of boost.

I get back and can't stop laughing. I turn the boost up one turn, now the MBC is maxed out, 1/2 hr later were up again, burnout, launch and it feels good again, no more farting, 2.0 60ft and a 13.68@98.38 mph at 25psi again.

I forgot to get the little ferule like Ken suggested so I use a small rock to shim up the spring. Get back out, during the burnout, its popping so I know the boost is too high, launch and pop poppity, look at the boost guage-its pegged to the left, I would guess 40 psi, so I just do the run at 3/4 throttle and waste another Turbo Civic. Figured a 18 sec run, WRONG, 14.1@90.89 mph,

So I boost it in the pits and get it to 30 psi. Go back out and this is where it gets ugly, fast. I am in the waterbox and brake torquing it, tranny goes boom. Well anyhow, needless to say, I am the first person to grenade an OBX,

    See here for more details-

So needless to say, I don't know if I will drag race anymore this year. I just don't have the time to build another trans right now. I have tons of parts but damn, I just have zero time.

I left in the tow truck just as ForcfedOmni showed up, hope they had a good time.

Hemidare ran 15's@88 mph in his 89 Shadow, basically stock with a 2.5 inch system and Whorse ran his Lebaron convert with a slipping clutch at 14.6@88 mph.

I hate to hear that about your trans. That's sort of the same deal that happened with the Daytona. I started running some decent times (mid 9's in the 1/8) and knew it had 8 second potential with some tuning and traction improvement but the trans died before I could get it there. Hopefully you find the time to get it straightened out, as it sounds like you were making good progress with your times.

Maybe its time to save up and give Stephane a call?

On the plus side, it sounds like with the trans sorted you'll be able to keep chipping away at that PB. Keep at it, for every step back you've made two steps forward

Glad to hear you went faster
