pistons and rods ?

i have some rods and pistons out of a 89 2.5 t1. will they work in my 86 omni? or do i need to swap pistons? i got them for the hd rods.

The 2.5 pistons will not work as their compression height is too short, as in the wrist pin is higher in the piston due to the 2.5's longer stroke. The rods are full floating so you will need some 2.2 T II pistons as the 86 2.2 had pins pressed in the rods.
