    I give up - smec harness swap?

    I got me-self an '89 2.2 TII smec and harness finally, and have the bulkhead connector to swap it into my charger... The only problem is I CANT FIND THE PINOUTS.

    I've pm'd, I've searched, I've found nothing useful to ME.

    every other post I read says 'search, it was covered last week' and I do so.... never find anything I can USE.

    So, does ANYONE have the bulkhead pinouts for an '85 L body T1, and for an '89 smec Turbo??? If so, POST IT PLEASE. I've had the harness a month and havn't gotten to make ANY progress here...

    that gets him part way, but he still needs the bulkhead (drivers side) pin outs for an 85 L-body.

    If I get time, I'll run out and make copies of Clay's notes that he sent with the harness I bought from him. The notes I have are for putting a minivan SMEC into an L-body.

    The public library has always had all the info I needed. Look for the "Mitchell" service manuals in the reference section.

    still in need - been really f'n busy at work for 3 weeks, but I have about an hour each night before bed to do this...

    I can get *some* of what I need,but the pinout for the '89 (or 88?) daytona turbo Z TII smec I've got... not sure if its much different from any others... so...

    Okay, I found a bulkhead pinout for an '88 G body, I assume the bulkhead connector for a smec car is the same for turbo/non-turbo, but that the HARNESS is different? If the bulkhead connectors are the same, then I should be set...

    Anyone else got some insight maybe? mostly need help with:

    50 way pin 1 "battery feed" - where is this on the 40 way?
    50 way pins 45 and 46 for the wiper motor - where do they (or how) connect to the 40 way?
    50 way pin 41 "stop lamps" - do I need this on the 40 way?
    50 way pin 36 - where on the 40 way does this go?
    50 way pins 7 and 8 - same, where do they go?

    The others I think I've got...

    Spot checking with the notes that came with Heath's wiring...mind you this is minivan and charger wiring.

    Just looking...you have 35 listed twice for the 40 way. On my stuff, that is heated rear window, so pin 48 from the 50 should go there (assuming things are the same).

    "8 to 4" : My pinouts show that connecting speed control to ignition switch. Double check this one. My notes show 8 to 11...which looks completely wrong too. :shrug:

    "10 to 35" : Ours are completely different, methinks. Anyways, I'll see if I can answer the last questions. Disregard the last two things.

    My 50way pin 1 is "Headlamp Switch, 12RD", and that doesn't go anywhere on mine. It's a dangler.

    Heath has pins 45 and 46 going to 15 and 16 on the 40way respectively.

    Pin 41 is not listed on mine.

    That's all I've got. I hope it helps at least a little. But it probably won't.

    hmm... methinks we have some differences. Was you work with an '85 L body?

    The 10 to 35 should be 10 to 36 (fog lamps)

    50way pin 1 for me lists "battery feed" (rd wire)

    What year smec were you working with? 88 or 89? could possibly be small changes in the bulkhead connector, or differences in turbo/non-turbo...
