Lol wanna repaint another blue shelby when you are done with this?
I am attaining one this weekend
For pics check out pauls thread!
Damn, didn't realize you were in Canada.
Hell can I just pay for you to come down here LMAO.
I have a 66 charger, an 86 laser and this other Daytona that could use a paint job.
Possibly a 69 charger too
Yeah i've seen that car and it looks to be in awesome shape... it's pretty much the twin to mine! so do you plan on keeping it all original? atleast paint wise? Wow you've got quite the collection of cars there! I've got a good collection going on too, haha. 1982 Rampage 2.2L T2, 7 Daytona's and two Dusters (1971 and 1975) and over 50% of my collection all need work/money,
I haven't really worked on the car very much lately... it's been to damn cold! on saturday Edmonton was the second coldest place in the world.. -46 and -56 with the windchill. it's been an average of -30 for a week now,
WOW. Come to Kansas for some warm weather at 18 degrees
Ya I have more. A ton more.
I have 5 daytonas (right now that number is slowly dwindling) 2 lebarons, a spirit and some other cars lying around(non mopar) +50 parts cars.
Most of mine need work.
I wanna keep it mostly original and all original atleast paint wise.
Keep up the good work and hope for warmer weather so you can paint
Q
What do you have planned for it engine wise?
Well it's finally warmed back up here, so i can continue on the car again!
I've ordered some eibach lowering springs for the car just to give it a better stance. I'm also considering going with aftermarket rims, but i don't know yet, because i wanna keep it as original as possible. If i end up going with aftermarket rims, im gonna get the exact same ones as my red Daytona has, but instead of the black i will get them in charcoal to match with the charcoal on the car.
Also for next summer i'm going to get the original motor fully rebuild with forged pistons and ARP hardware. I would like to start collecting all the pieces for a S60 kit (the S60 intercooler that goes in the stock location, turbo, computer, injectors, 3bar map) and i even still wanna keep the original airbox just to keep it looking factory.
stripped.
Skim coat of filler.
Blocked out with 80 grit.
In high build primer.
It will be blocked out and primered atleast two more times until it's perfectly straight... these doors were full of dents! after the skim coat of filler and being blocked they feel pretty damn good now!
Finished up the drivers door tonight... i primered and blocked it four more times to get it straight and it's now in its final primering, which just needs to be wetsanded when it comes time to spray the entire car. I then painted inside the door jamb, which ended up being lots of work too, because i had to do bodywork from someone closing the door on the seatbelt more then once over the years..
next i'm onto the passenger door which is just as bad!
man that is looking great!!!
Thanks! It's getting there one piece at a time.. hopefully it will be all finished by march, even tho i still wont be able to drive it till atleast May.
I decided to paint my T-top trim with gloss clear... i liked the look when it was satin (the way it was factory) but i like it much better how my Red Daytona is with the gloss black trim, so this one is getting the same treatment. I redid most of the parts already (as you can see i have to redo the other little pieces in this pic as well as the mirrors.. I'm also waiting on my NOS T-top door trim to come in the mail.
all i did was wetsand them with 1000grit and re-cleared them, then wetsanded them with 2000 and 3000 grit and polished them. In my opinion the gloss trim is gonna look much better on the car,
Very nice work!
the gloss will look really good
Thanks guys for the compliments! I just finished re-clearing the rest of the T-top trim tonight, so tomorrow i will be doing the wetsanding and polishing... i've already got a crazy amount of hours in this car and i wouldn't even say im 1/3 finished, . I cant wait for the end result tho... alteast all this hard work is rewarding in the end.
I am drooling over your car. I may have to make a day trip up to Edmonton to see it when your done
Yeah for sure... I'm sure i'll be taking it to Calgary over the summer too. I drove it there last summer, since i have some family who lives out there.
Finally all the T-top pieces are finished again! I finished wetsanding and polishing the rest of the parts tonight ...i have half a Daytona in the basement,
Passenger door.. got it blocked out tonight and tomorrow i will put the 1st coat of primer on. This door was way worse then the drivers side for dents!

I'm not sure how I missed this one Randy. The Daytona is looking awsome!! Over the break I was thinking I should give you guys a call for some coffee but then the days just dissappeared. We need to get together soon and catch up. Maybe I'll come get my leftover paint and you can put me to work for a couple hours
Thanks Dj. It's slowly coming along.. doing bodywork sucks and i'm sure you'll agree! Yeah you should stop by one of these days and don't worry i wont put you to work on my car unless your really willing to get dusty and dirty, haha. Your paint is still sitting in the cabinet here as well. I'm gonna have to get ahold of your friend over at fast engines pretty soon... i got the original block that i want him to build (forged pistons and ARP hardware)
Oh your old Shadow is still going strong too.
