looking good. could use some 215/60/16" tires in the future though.
^or even some 225/60's. Speedo might be a bit off but it will fill out that wheel well hella better forsure
Wow two people say bigger tires and 0 people say lower it?

^well do that too =)
Minor update:
The other night I polished a spare set of headlamps given to me by Vigo.
I started out with 220 grit, then 600 and 1000. Then I used a foam pad in a drill to buff it out using some 3m rubbing compound. Which by the way is some very handy stuff! then to seal them I used a coat of Krylon triple thick glaze. The triple thick works great for pinball back glasses so we'll see how well it works on headlights which in no way are related. The end result was well worth the effort.
On the way to visit the folks for thanksgiving the heater core clogged up again. At least it only got down to 50deg. I remember reading somewhere that a person installed a strainer before the core to catch any debris. I'll have to venture by the hardware store to see if I can piece together something. A remote mounted coolant filter seems a bit overkill.
Backflush it with a garden hose. Flush the cooling system as well. Should be all good from there.
Pete Faggella 03 PT Cruiser, 2.4L N/A 5 speed. Daily driver. All stock with baby moon wheels. 85 LeBaron 2.2TBI auto. Hoped I'd see a difference with bumped compression, but I didn't. Still slow. "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!'"
Well, we did backflush it with a garden hose.. got a bunch of junk out, BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! ...apparently.
Eh, enough flushes at 15 mins and $0 a pop will have it permanently fixed eventually.

Years ago I learn't a trick for helping back-flush rad's.
You hold the garden hose running into the bottom of the radiator and take a 3/8 airline with no end on it and also hold it into the bottom of the radiator. You then use your other hand to fold the airline in half to stop the flow, and open your hand for short burst to 'boil' the water and increase the pressure in the rad momentarily.
You need a good compressor to keep up,as it uses alot of air to do this.
Might help.
Well the radiator is brand new, just trying to fix up the heater core. It is not really clogged so much as full of loose junk.. it just needs MORE backflushing, i think. :/
Good tip though, sounds like something i would try

Update! Free HID headlights and seats!
A buddy of mine had purchased a HID headlight kit for his Denali. Since he no longer had the Denali, he was nice enough to donate them to project turbovan.
Thanks AJ!
Since the new bulbs were a 9005 style iirc, I had to turn them into 9004 bulbs. Nothing a Dremel, superglue, and donor bulbs can't fix! luckily, it was easy to match the distance from base to filament for proper focusing.
I did the installation over at Vigo's place, and Derrick was there to pull the motor for his New Yorker.
One normal light and one HID.
Pretty bright! I'm going to aim them down to avoid blinding other motorists.
Here are the two inverters / ballasts.
Now how about those seats from the shadow?
Some modifications of the mounts. The track width on the Shadow seats were 1/2" narrower than the van seats. Time to slot!
New seats!
And old seats...
I'm thinking about rigging them up as captain's chairs for the rear of the van (removable of course).
So many motors and so few vehicles. Oh, wait, scratch that
Lots of progress updates but unfortunately less pictures.
Installed a 2.5" exhaust system from FWD Performance with nothing but a looong 2.5" glass pack muffler. It's pretty much the same thing that is on the New Yorker and Aries; It's surprisingly quiet. The major benefit from this is that I am actually able to boost more than 6psi now!!
This was also the first time that Vigo got to use the new welder that he got for Christmas.
Also installed an intake from parts that my GF got me for Christmas.
I had made an auxiliary input cable for the factory head unit (which is ridiculously easy) and have been enjoying it quite a bit. Then I picked up a bunch of stereo equipment for free from my friend that used to own a car stereo shop. The van now has a 2.5" component set from Total Mobile Audio in the front, and a 4-disc in-dash CD changer from a 98-01 (?) Chrysler. I had to modify the face of the head unit to fit the square hole because it is one of the round units. It turned out looking pretty good! This unit had a similar 8-pin DIN plug on the back as the old unit, so I thought I'd try out my aux cable. BAD IDEA! here is the result:
That is a view inside of my XM roadie II, which subsequently does not work any more. I'm going to try to repair it.
The rear 6x9s in the van had bad tweeters but good woofers. The problem with all the factory speakers in this thing was corroded tinsel leads. So, I removed the tinsel leads for the tweeters , reinforced the leads to the woofer, and re-connected the voice coils of the tweeters. The result was a factory set of speakers that works like new.
The reinforced woofer leads:
removing the tweeter domes carefully:
The faulty voice coil leads!
I reglued everything with E6000. Which I cannot recommend enough to everybody. I've been using this stuff for years and it is truly awesome.
Also, I constructed an in-line heater core filter using parts from the home depot.
I bought the sink strainer just in case, but it was not needed.
I haven't installed it yet, but I will let everyone know how it goes.
Currently I am adding 4-channel preamp outputs to the 4-disc head unit for future expansion, and gathering parts for an aux input adapter ( forget paying $60+!). Oh, and not to mention changing the back light color of the head unit to match the rest of the car. Also happening soon is to install the original front seats in the rear as removable captain's chairs.
w00t!
