Intercooler temp drops thread

Just making a thread so everybody can post their temp drops. I checked the end tanks today with my infared thermometer. A temp sensor would be a better choice, but this gets the job done.

Intercooler type: stock Lancer Evo 8
Location: Front mount
Ambient temperature: 66 degree F
Hod side of intercooler: 109 degree F
Cold side of intercooler: 72 degree F

I am very pleased, and suprised that my intercooler drops the temps to almost Ambient, and it drops it almost 40 degrees!

How exactly did you measure it? Did you do a hard run, pulled over and checked the temps?

Whats the pressure drop on that intercooler?

yeah, I checked it after a few hard runs. I have no idea what the pressure drop is, although its actually a denso intercooer, and i would imagin its very low pressure drop.

Like you said ... a couple sensors is better. Measuring the IC exterior doesn't tell you much.
