did a compression test today cuzz the car smokes, at a cold idle but when it warms up it goes away. i'm not sure if it would be valve seals or if it is something else . the car is a stock 87 glhs.
thanks guys for the info in advance

Could be valve seals or turbo seals. If they are original, I'd bet the valve seals are hard by now.

the compression # where 120 143 145 145. that i know of every thing is orginal thanks for the quik reply
Hmmm, that 120 kind of raises a flag. What do the spark plugs look like? What color is the smoke?
Raises a flag, but still not too bad. Add a teaspoon of oil and test it again... Should raise it.
I'm guessing valve seals with JT here... cold idle issue. A turbo going bad would be smokes after warm up...

the #1 plug had what looked like chalk on it. the smoke looks like it is white or a really lite blue . i did put a little oil in the #1 to see how much it would go up but it only went up to 125 or 130 can't remember right now. i hope that can help . i'm not sure if should do the vavle seal first or go with some thing eles. thanks everyone for the help .
did the valve seals today just to find a valve guide has fell . it really sucks but i'll just have to wait tell i get back from the deployment to fix that darn valve guide. thank guys for all the info
