    01 ram differential?!?!?!?!?!

    Im trying to change the front diff seals on my brothers 01 Ram 1500. Theyre on the inside of the pumpkin. I have the pinion loose, the axles are out, and the carrier bearings are loose. I cant seem to get the diff out of the rear. Im not seeing any manual adjusters, no removable shims or anything else that may be holding it in. The pass side wheel bearing was replaced before we got it and Im wondering if the mechanic possibly pushe the seal in when he put the axle shaft back. Has anyone else ran into this before?!?!?!?!

    There is preload on the side bearings, put a wrench on the diff gear bolt-have it so it is jammed against the housing, then rotate the diff, this will walk out the diff.

    Hope you have a LONG bar as you'll need it to push the new seals in and they are a royal PITA.

    Dude, think, put a box wrench on the diff carrier nut, then place the wrench so it jams against the housing, now TURN the pinion to rotate the diff, the carrier will rotate and fall out.

    Ive tried alot of thing, just not that. Ill see what happens trying this. Thanks
