    Chipped SMEC not working

Ok ive chipped many SMECs in the past with no problems. I just chipped one for a project my dad and I finished, and this is the first time ive used a sst27sf512 chip. I erased the chip and then burned a fresh cal at an 8000 offset (32k bin file). When I put the chip in and turn the key on, all the injectors click on and stay on, and the fuel pump does not turn on. I tried burning at different offsets and the same thing every time. I dont think I messed anything up when I chipped it so I dunno if its a chip programming issue or the SMEC is shot. I dont have another SMEC to test with either

You guys think the SMEC is toast?

The offset is wrong or its not loading properly, the clicking is the give away. What are you burning it with?

Make sure you have the chip oriented properly. You may also want to try another file. I had the worst time with chips at minigts' place a few months back. It ended up being a corrupted file.

    Re: Chipped SMEC not working

Turned out to be a bad SMEC, I must have damaged it when I chipped it.

This morning I decided I was tired of guessing so I went to the junkyard and picked up another SMEC ($50 ). Anyway I chipped it and everything is working great now. Thanks for all the ideas though

I will have to get some pictures up soon. You guys would probably like it, 16v hybrid engine into a sand rail.
