stuck in 2nd gear? any advice

ok drove my 91 daytona home from work went to bed. next morning went to work and the car jumped out of first at about 2 grand and is stuck in 2nd. so i was told it is in limp mode. i dont have much knowledge on cars but can get by. i put a new torque converter and tcm but no luck. i was thinking of going to the junk yard and getting the box that sits on the passenger side in the engine bay. along with all wires and sensors that go into the trans. before i do this id like to find out if im missing something. and its a A604 trans auto.

you have to scan theTCM for codes 1st you will need access to a scaner!!!!!

You have a sensor fault, which trips the computer into limp mode, which is 2nd gear. Borrow, rent a scanner and see what codes pop up, it could be something as simple as a speed sensor or bad like a blown tranny. If your in a pinch, disconnect the battery to reset everything and it should work again unless the fault shows up immediately.

the thing on the pass side is the tcm but you said that you replaced it, Im confused

whats the wires that run from the box to the trans with the big plug lol

idk its a box thing that was a b to replace on the front of the trans

you really need to check codes if possible, could be the trans input/output speed sensors, they are about $20 each

ill try it was a ----- getting the car out there at 30mph on a 2 lane road thats busy unless its like 3 in the morning.
