    T1 blow-though

Ok, basically trying to figure / sort things out.
Trying to save some costs here. I have to pull my 87 SC motor to fix a wrist pin. While I have the motor out I plan to swap on a 1 pc Blow through intake.
Want to know if my stock LM will work or, I have actually been running Mopar Part #p4529871 on my log with a set of MP 804 injectors. Car runs a bit rich , would this work in a 1 piece application. Really hate to buy another LM.

    Welcome to the forum!

First off... if its just a wrist pin, you han just pull the head assembly off and take the pistons out the top, leaving the block in the car.

Secondly, you can run the stock LM, but since its an '87, it would be better to go to a GLHS MP Stage II for the blow thru intake, especially if you plan to add an intercooler.

    Re: T1 blow-though

Been having some issues with this motor for a few years . Gonna have whole bottom end trued up again, lay a clutch in while I'm there.
As far as the intake . Just want the intake swapped for now. I have Adj Fidanza Cam Pulley, Mopar 314 cam along with the other items I mentioned. Plan on intercooling down the road . So the Mopar LM will get me up and running....do I still switch the sensors/ wiring?

The MP LM you have (or even the original stock 87 one) will get you up and running. Shoulnt have to switch wires unless you go to the T2 LM?

BTW, here is a list of part numbers:

P5249670 would be the correct 87 T2 Stage II LM for when you intercool it.

    Thanks....helps alot.
As a side note any suggestions on which TB to use.
The one on my 1 pc intake had a cracked mnt flange.
Anyone better matched to a Garret turbo and that 314 cam combo?

    Re: T1 blow-though

You can get a 52mm TB off an early 3.0L minivan, but the mouth of the intake woudl have to be opened severely to be able to benefit from it.

314 cam? I ran one of those once... They were the hot ticket back in the day. Since you are doing multiple things, I would actually get it up and running with teh blow thru setup with the stock cam and get some baseline runs down before putting any other cam on it. Best to have a baseline (even if its the old assometer) to know if you get a gain from the cam or not.

    Re: T1 blow-though

on a 1 piece a 52 mm TB is a waste because you can't open the neck far enough without some serious welding. The area of the neck after the turn is smaller than a stock 46mm TB.

    Re: T1 blow-though

Personally I'd swap in the correct LM, sell the other one. Then you have everything working like it should. A GLHS LM would be easiest but I like to upgrade to the underhood map and the slightly faster ECU of an 87 true T2 setup.

    Re: T1 blow-though

I had an 87 SC and it is still being driven to this day. If you are converting your log into a t1 blowthough then you want to use the right logic module. Use An 87 glhs lm at least, your swapping the intake manifold and all that, might as well use the correct one.
