    Purple plate?

Guess its time for a better clutch in my rampage. Stock T3 pressure plate and 4 puck ceramic wasnt enough to haul 11s for very long. Lots of slippage at the track yesterday....

Big words to say about the purple plate from others. Any comments? Choices?

    What's yer trucklet weigh Bill?

I'm not familiar with "Purple", but it sounds like TU's clutch? What HP is it rated at?

Net HP = Weight in pounds* (Speed in MPH/228.4)^3

i had a blue plate with 6 pucks loved it was a little light for track duty in a daytona

my friend has a 6 puck purple and he loves it
said he can pull out normal but its a little tricky he pretty much said he had to reteach himself how to use the pedal

Close to 2900lbs in the Shadow with a purple 4 puck. It hasn't shown a single sign of slipping yet. Popping the clutch in 2nd for burnouts and more power than the 24.5 M&Hs can hold at the line for launches.

    Re: Purple plate?

Bill........buy it! I love mine. I proved it holds 600Ft/Lbs and takes a hell of a beating with NO signs of any problems yet. Its hands down the BEST clutch for this car IMHO. I mean I hear some guys running twin discs and dont get me wrong I'm sure those work awesome too but this is a economical bolt in part that works perfect for what we want it for. You are gonna sh*t when you push the pedal down for the 1st time and you think you F'd up and put a stock plate in it LOL!

    Re: Purple plate?

Is anyone making anywhere near the power that Reeves, myself or JT are making running this set-up? IF it could hold 600ft/lbs why does the website say 400+? I need a clutch for the Charger and as far as I can tell, my only options are moding an ACT SRT-4 6 or 4 puck set-up or going dual disc.

FWD 4-puck with the best RPS PP that can be bolted to our flywheels. I was running a dual diaphram before this, but I didn't like how stiff the pedal was on the street.

    Re: Purple plate?

Well, wanting it to feel a certain way for the street is the big hang up there. Brent's clutch wasnt slipping when he put down over 500 whp and torque but he was using an unsprung hub 3 puck with a dual diaphragm pressure plate.

judging by the number of people ive noticed putting 400+whp through a t3 pressure plate and a 4 puck, it seems like the purple plate and 4puck would pretty much cover 95% of everyone that needs something better than that..

past that you got DD plates with 4 pucks, 3 pucks and sintered iron woooeee!

the aries is i believe either an old t2 or t3 plate with a 4 puck and it has had 'moments' of feeling like it was slipping with 'only' ~350lb ft.

Seems like anything stronger than a stock t3 + a 4puck is pretty much the way to go, even for people who dont need it yet. Its easy to drive.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

I am running a purple with 4 puck. With my 126mph pass it puts me close to 475whp. I am not currently very worried abou it slipping as I crest 500.

    Re: Purple plate?

I have the purple plate along with the oversize upgrade disc in my charger.
I know the car weighs 2635 with me in it.

I've only managed two runs in the car since its been in and not sure what my hp is but it will run low elevens when I make it down the track.

I tried an all out pass and managed to make it through three shifts and it held up without and slippage what so ever.

Bill, you sat in my caar and tried the pedal feel and know it's extreemly light.

I believe it will hold up in your car without any issues.

My guess is that it will hold over 450 ft lbs of torque.
