    extra injector set ups

Im new to the site and new to up grading these engines. I own an 89 plymouth voyager turbo, stock lower end and a rebuilt head, garret t03, intercooler, cone intake and 3' cat back exhast, accufab afpr, 255 fuel pump. also added a boost guage and dawes a/f meter. I have seen the old guys add 5th and 6th injectors to gain a little more boost while still running stock injectors. Is this healthy? Does it work? Any other calibrations needed? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks

yea it works. i was able to run about 17-18 psi with a fifth injector. btw welcome to the site. i honestly dont know what my air/fuels were at but im running a stock 86 bottom end. and it held together. currently i have +40's and a 3 bar map tune. 5th and 6th injectors don't need a tune or cal to run. if u run more boost on ur current stock computer u need to trick the map into thinking ur running stock boost. u can diode it or bleed it. www.thedodgegarage.com or http://www.gusmahon.org/index_main.htm are your best sites for that kind of stuff.

older volvos, audis, and vw's have the 5th injectors. volvos are located under the intake manifold all hidden. the vw's are in plain site. if ur wanting to grab one from a salvage car.

no best spot would be about 6in before the throttle body.

oh and u need some sort of indicator light to let u know when that/those injectors are on. u can get those at a parts store. run a hot wire straight to the battery with a fuse to the injector(s) then the napa part uses the ground to kick on and off and hook the ground to the injector. hook the light to the same wires. wires on the injector don't matter which way they go. the part from napa says it don't like vacuum but i had mine hooked to a vac/boost source and it always worked.

Or just do it the safe way and get bigger injectors (+20 or +40's) and an afpr or a cal (best way).

no. u can tune it for 20's if u want. but u can run the stock cal. it might just run a tad rich at idle. nothing horrible.

Don't just add +20's imo, you will need to turn down the fuel pressure so it won't run so rich.

And you will only need a 3 bar map sensor if you are planning on running more than 14.7psi safely.
